Application Fee Payment:
A nonrefundable application fee of $100 is required. You must submit your application fee electronically. You will receive immediate confirmation from our payment system to confirm receipt of your application fee. The application fee checklist item in your Application Status Portal may not appear as fulfilled for up to 48 business hours.

Application Fee Waiver:
The School of Management doesn’t offer waivers of graduate application fees. Categorical exceptions made by the University are only for those applicants who provide sufficient documentation of their participation in one of the following:

an undergraduate student in EOP, HEOP, or SEEK program within New York State (only)
an undergraduate participant in the CSTEP, MARC, PREP, RISE, LSAMP, or McNair Scholars programs on any campus
an applicant through Project 1000
an applicant through AmeriCorps
an applicant with US military/veteran status
an applicant who is the spouse of a US veteran

Request for an application fee waiver, based on participation in one of the above listed programs, will be completed during the application submission process. We are not able to approve fee waivers outside of the above listed programs.

Unless waived from the English language proficiency requirement, all international applicants must demonstrate proficiency by submitting official test scores from one of the approved English language proficiency tests.

The following categories of international applicants are automatically waived from the English language proficiency requirement.

Applicants who are citizens of, AND who were educated in the English medium from Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Canada, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Guam, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritius, Monaco, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, eSwatini (Swaziland), Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Non-matriculated (non-degree) students attending UB under reciprocal exchange agreements with international institutions of higher education.
Applicants who were enrolled at UB and are moving from one degree-level to another or one program to another with a break in their studies of no more than three years between the time of graduation and new enrollment.
International students transferring from another U.S. college to UB, who
(a) completed (or will complete) a degree at that U.S. college or were enrolled for at least two years at the prior institution; and
(b) had a minimum 2.0 GPA at the prior institution; and
(c) had no more than a three-year break between the time of graduation

In order to be considered for an English language proficiency waiver, candidates must first complete an application, and upload all required admissions materials. Request for an English language proficiency waiver will be completed during the application submission process. Only when your application is complete, will your waiver request be considered.

UB will recognize 3-year bachelor degrees from Indian institutions if ALL three of the following criteria and conditions are met:

The Indian institution (authorized to grant degrees) is publicly listed as recognized by the Indian University Grants Commission (UGC) or the Government of India Department of Higher Education or the AICTE (or other recognized accrediting body); AND
The institution granting the three-year bachelor degree has a NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) grade of at least “A”; AND
The student has a minimum overall grade point average (CGPA) of at least "B" as defined in the transcript grading legend. The transcript legend will be used as the primary source for determining CGPA. The specific numerical value of a "B" average varies by institution. However, if a grading legend is not provided / available, the following defaults will be used to determine a CGPA "B" average: at least 50% on a 100% scale; at least 6 on a 10-point scale; at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; at least 3.00 on a converted A-F letter grade scale using standard UB grade points; or at least Second Class / Second Division on a Class / Division system.

UB will also recognize 3-year Bachelor degrees from one of the seventeen original Indian universities (listed below) whose three-year degrees are now grandfathered:

Students who hold a 3-year Bachelor degree that does not meet the above criteria, but have completed at least one full academic year of a subsequent Master's degree or Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) may be considered for admission to a UB graduate program (regardless of NAAC rating and student CGPA).

Applicants with three-year Bachelor degrees that fall outside of all of the above parameters may NOT be admitted to a UB graduate program.
